Director of Early Childhood

St. Andrew’s Episcopal School seeks a Director of Early Childhood for our 18 months-3 year old program. The Director of Early Childhood manages a licensed, year-round program that includes 45 students (18 months-3 years old), 10 teachers, and a handful of support staff and outside vendors. This division is known as St. Andrew’s Cottage and has been in operation for 9 years.

The Director must meet the qualifications for this role as defined by the Louisiana Department of Education ( The Director also ensures that these licensing requirements are upheld in hiring and daily operations of the program.

The Director is a member of the administrative team of St. Andrew’s Episcopal School and works closely with the admissions, finance and operations departments towards common goals. The Director’s responsibilities include hiring and training all staff; developing the educational program within a research-based framework; supporting families and teacher professional development; and maintaining an effective liaison with the upper division of the School. Strong management and communications skills, deep knowledge of early childhood development and parent relationships, and a proactive, collaborative approach to problem solving are necessary. Comfort with Microsoft Office and online platforms for mass communication also required.
